SPOKANE, Wash.-- People displaced by a house fire near Perry and Nora returned home Thursday to salvage their belongings.
Flames damaged the home along Nora on Wednesday and injured four firefighters. All the tenants safely escaped but without very little. On Thursday, fire crews helped tenants sort through what was left.
"We went to bed last night bracing ourselves for having nothing at all, we really didn't know what to expect," said Nick Peraud.
Tenants said the inside is a mess and difficult to walk through. Yet, renters were able to find some
precious possessions they thought were lost. One tenant even found her wedding dress which she feared was destroyed.
Firefighters said the dress survived the fire with only water and smoke damage.
