Hot Exercise - Personal Health & Fitness

If you live in the sunny South today and workout you probably will enjoy a warmer exercise experience. Though the calendar says the month is Spring the temperatures in the upper 90's describe otherwise. Hot exercise was the results my early morning personal training clients stated this morning prior to 8 a m.

?This time of year all over the country and especially in the deep South you need to increase your hydration during your workouts. This past Saturday as I rode my mountain bike with my friend, we drank more water than we have consumed in several months riding the same distance. A camel back hydration pack will be utilized on our next ride to insure we have enough to drink and maintain our fitness levels.

?In your fitness center and gym you can add a larger container of water to your workout regimen or at least visit the water fountain more often to insure you stay healthy and strong as you exercise for better health. When you consume enough water during exercise your fitness results will increase even in the hotter weather. The same rule applies in your gym as anywhere else, drink before you get thirsty for proper healthy workout duration. If your exercise session is an hour in length, you should consume at least a full bottle if not more depending on how tough you are pushing yourself on the free weights or doing cardio exercise.

?When you walk into a fitness center or gym and see water bottles beside the ellipticals or on the consoles of treadmills with people working out, you know these guys are serious about their fitness results. My road bike and mountain bike have 2 water bottle holders on each to insure I have a ample supply of water and other important liquids to keep me exercising at maximum fitness efforts.

?Today my exercise was ?primarily a strength workout and I consumed over a quart of water mixed with about a quarter of natural juice for a tasty nutritional beverage to keep me energized and hydrated. Later today in the late afternoon hours when the weather cools a bit I will enjoy a cardio workout and probably go through 2 water bottles or more.?

?When you hydrate properly during exercise you will feel your energy levels maintain or even increase during your workouts whether ?you are doing strength training in the gym or outside. Your same energy level will be strong when you perform your long walks outside, jogging on a treadmill inside or an elliptical and recumbent bike in your exercise room.

?Hot exercise is great for burning calories and getting the lean fat free body you want and need. When you enjoy hot exercise and turn your workout time up a notch you will feel better and notice better fitness benefits. For me the hot exercise time from now on until at least October in the South will allow me to continue to increase my lean body mass and decrease fat weight while I sweat. Sweating is healthy as long as you don't deplete your body too much by allowing it to be dehydrated. You sweat out toxins and actually help your skin reinvigorate by cleansing your pores.

?I have a buddy who has lost over 30 pounds once he got serious about his eating habits and turned up his exercise routine. He diligently exercises regularly and as a result almost looks like a new man. When you increase your water intake you will not be a as hungry for unhealthy foods and your body will be stronger and healthier. Spring water is better than purified water because of less added solutions.

?Enjoy this hot exercise season and benefit your workouts each day by strength training with dumbbells, free weights, kettlebells, and other exercise machines. You need to increase your resistance and duration or workout routine at least every two weeks to insure healthy progress. Hot exercise will contribute to your positive fitness results as you endeavor to stay healthy not only from what you drink but also what you eat. Eat what you need to maintain your energy levels in whatever your favorite exercise is for this season. Keep on working out and enjoy hot exercise to benefit your body now and forever.
