No snow, just rain for Central Texas

Parts of Texas are expected to get a sprinkling of snow today, but weather experts said the San Antonio region will get only cold rain.

?You'll have to go about 300 miles to the northwest if you want to see snow,? said David Schumacher with the National Weather Service. ?There's no chance of snow anywhere in the area, in the Hill Country or San Antonio.?

Forecasters on Thursday said the Hill Country could get light snowfall Christmas Eve morning thanks to a cold front that lingered in the area for several days. But on Saturday, Schumacher said the air was too warm and moist.

Most of the country is expected to be without snow today, with light scatterings predicted for Texas, New Mexico and the Great Lakes region.

?Other than that, there's not much snow around,? Schumacher said. ?It's a little bit unusual.?

Winds were expected to calm slightly today and temperatures will be slightly warmer with a high of 52 as cloud coverage breaks in the afternoon. Rain chances also will drop this Christmas Day.
