Back Pain in Pregnancy

?

Fifty to seventy percent of pregnant women experience back pain. Usually it begins in the 4 month onwards. The pain is often dull, persistent ache in the lower back. It affects younger women or those who had prior pregnancies. It occurs on the sacroiliac joint, where the pelvic attaches to the spine. It feels like stiffness which may become a sore the whole day. There are many reasons why pregnant women experience back or spinal pain. One is weight gain. As the uterus develops, it becomes heavier. This puts pressure on the blood vessels and nerves in the pelvis and back. Another cause is hormonal changes which cause the ligaments that support the spine to loosen which leads to the back pain. Another cause is muscle separation where the uterus expands. Regular exercise will treat back pain and reduce the pain during pregnancy. Consult your doctor about it.
