Metro UI Now Hits Galaxy Tab 10.1, ASUS Transformer via Customization

If you?re so in love with Metro UI that you feel the need to use it on an already launched tablet, you can use custom software to bring it to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and ASUS Transformer. I?m talking about a tweak for people in the know here, so be advised and stay away if you don?t know your power user functions.

What we?re dealing with here is a theme that allows you to make your Android tablet?s homescreen identical to the one on Windows 8 or Windows Phone 7. You will have to flash the software? using ClockworkMod Recovery, but that?s not that big of a deal if you?re used to modding and tweaking. The source link below has more info, if you?re curios. XDA senior member BroBot175 release an extensive theme that simulates the Metro experience, so he?s the one to thank.

The mod is in beta testing, so the usual bugs are present. The number of widgets is also pretty limited, but it?s growing, so you should keep the app till it?s finalized. Make sure you have a backup of your data before playing with these tweaks. The latest releases include Android 4.0 support, more wallpapers and new widget names, making them easier to find.
