At a music school in New Jersey, students are getting a revolutionary education in learning music as their lessons are not only designed to teach them to learn how to play guitar but they?re also focused on helping students to understand the best methods for playing together in a band setting and performing in front of an audience. Many music lessons are conducted one-on-one around the country and students sometimes miss out on being able to learn how to play in a group if their lessons aren?t otherwise part of a school curriculum. And arguably, playing in front of an audience with other musicians is one of the most important reasons why a person would want to learn to play an instrument.
Students who are lucky enough to be able to attend the school in New Jersey say that they?ve been able to not only learn musical theory but have also been taught how a rock band functions and how to perform as part of a group on stage in a rock band rather than an orchestra. Of course, the program isn?t solely focused on rock music and seeks instead to provide a balanced method of providing musical education for its students.
One of the best things about the rock music taught at the school is that it isn?t music that?s solely from one era such as modern rock and many of the students of the music classes say that they?re able to relate to their parents better because they?re being taught about the musical genius of artists like Tom Petty, The Beatles and Aerosmith.
